Approximately 80 people the entire weekend gathered at Gavin's great-grandma's house to eat dinner in complete darkness. It was an experience to raise awareness and to thank our donors who have donated a minimum of $20 towards VisionWalk 2010. It was a weekend I will NEVER forget, one of the best times of my life!
Our guests were served dinner (they did not know what it was) in complete darkness. They came into the dining area with the lights on while we served them their wine of choice, as well as their salad dressing. Then the lights went off and it was pitch black. We've had many comments about a change of perspective for those living with blindness, and having to do every day activities in the dark. We are so grateful to have given this experience to our donors!
Our family were the servers, and they put so much hard work and effort to make it as nice of an event as it was. Thank you family and friends for all that you do for us, and Gavin. Love you!
