Vision Walk 2010
VisionWalk is the national fundraising event of the Foundation Fighting Blindness. Since it's inception in 2006, VisionWalk has raised over $12 million to fund research for treatments of blindness.
I was honored to be asked to be the walk chair for this year, and could not have a better board to work with. The people at FFB are our family and they provide a never-ending pillar of strength for my family and many others.
Gavin's Groupies walks for Gavin. Our first walk was last year in '09, just months after receiving Gavin's devastating diagnosis that he does not have vision and has a retinal disease. VisionWalk is, and always will be, near and dear in my heart. It has allowed us to focus on the positive, and turn our sadness into a positive experience.
A round of applause for our team this year. We were even bigger than last year, with over 150 people on our team. Thank you everyone, I know it was a hot day! We will always do this walk, for Gavin, and for the millions others who live in the darkness, or are losing their vision.
Again we treasure our group of supporters and our Groupies. You all help us fight the good fight and give us the strength we need. Strength is in numbers, and we are a true testament to that!
Thank you walkers! You are incredible -- A cure is in sight. With your help, we will make that day ... sooner rather than later. !
